Michael’s Story

I am a retired Staff Sergent from the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, I have been through a lot of things in my life and one of which was getting wounded in combat in Iraq.

To make a long story short, I recovered and came back home to find that my wife at that time was leaving me and I had to start anew. I moved in with my best friend and brother in arms that helped save my life. Finally got around to start dating again and went on a few dates, but one night I had walked into a restaurant with my buddy and there was this beautiful girl sitting straight through the door way. I walked toward her and sat down at the table next to her. My buddy noticed me staring and told me to go and talk to her. I told him that she probably wouldn’t be interested. Well to my surprise, the next day I got this phone number and was told to call it, it was the girl’s number from the restaurant. So I paced the room for awhile building up my courage to call and so I did.

For the next three weeks we proceeded to hang out with each other and have a good time.  That was two years ago. This Christmas I sat her down in front of her mother and step father and all three of her children which I adore and got down on one knee to propose to her. I got her this heart shaped diamond and asked her to marry me, all the while the children were yelling say yes mom say yes, And she did. After putting on the ring and a little tears rolling down her cheek, she kissed me and said I Love You.

This is my angel that brought me out of my slump in the world; who I could not go without. I love this girl to death and would do anything for her and pray that we will grow old together for the rest of our days.
