Congratulations – you’re getting married!  The excitement of your engagement is settling in….news has traveled fast and everyone knows! What’s next? Planning to plan your Wedding.

However long – or short – your engagement, now is the time to begin thinking about your Wedding style.  Take some time with your fiancé to discuss your Wedding vision.  Many different factors will come into play. Soon you’ll determine what really matters to you both – and that’s the beginning of the plan!

Your Wedding day is the most important day in your life; perhaps even the largest party you will ever plan. It’s no surprise, there will be lots of decisions to be made. Planning a Wedding takes more than 200 hours, according to industry research.

With so many choices, you may want to consider the services of a wedding professional. Save time and reduce the stress knowing your consultant has working relationships with wedding vendors and understands what they do, what they deliver and how they charge.

Throughout the planning process, the details, the budget, the timeline will be coordinated by your wedding consultant. Streamline the communication to a simple phone call or email. To learn more, please see the Services Page.

Very Personal Wedding Reception

So much more than music – the mood and the memories of your wedding reception will remain long after the last guests leave. The most important thing you can do to ensure a successful event is to hire an entertainer who shares your vision of your wedding reception.

Neal Howard of Atlanta’s Best DJ says, “You should always meet with your DJ to share ideas, get feedback, and discuss your thoughts for the perfect event. A talented entertainer will have many ideas that will include all your guests and make everyone feel like they are part of the celebration rather than just spectators at an event.”

It’s a celebration like no other and your wedding reception should reflect both your and your fiancé’s personalities.  Plugging in the Ipod is great for someone who only needs background music, but for a fun filled event that everyone will be talking about for years, you need a talented experienced master of ceremonies and entertainer.

Bridemaids and Other Attendants

Your girlfriends have been with you through love and laughter, happy tears and challenging times.  And they’ll be there on your Wedding Day as you walk down the aisle to say “I do.”

Remember the movie 27 Dresses?  Even if you’ve been in a lot of weddings, you are not obligated to return the favor.  How do you choose your bridal party?  Who did you call when you became engaged?  Who have you shared your wildest dreams with?

If you and your fiancé have brothers and/or sisters, that’s a good place to start.  Your BFF, of course, is another.  Consider the overall size of your wedding.  For a small intimate wedding, say fewer than 50 people, perhaps one or two attendants would be appropriate.  More than 200 guests?  You may want five or six bridesmaids along with five or six groomsmen.

Selecting your bridal party is a wonderful opportunity to honor special relationships.  Asking friends to be members of your wedding House Party is a great alternative.  More on that in future posts.

Wedding Dress Ideas

Your wedding dress.  THE dress!  Color, style, budget?  Where to begin?

It’s all about you, so be sure to reflect your personal style when looking for your wedding dress. The perfect dress is waiting for you, whether a simple sheath or layers of lace.

Bridal salons have styles to highlight every body type and every Bride’s preference. Keep in mind, always, what style you find the most comfortable and the most flattering.

Consider the overall mood of your wedding, will it be formal or more casual? Go glam for an all-out formal affair, if that’s your style. Or look to texture and detail on your dream dress.

Ever think that white is just white? Well, yes and no. Cream, ivory, ecru, champagne are all varying shades that look stunning with your skin tone.  Try them all and soon one will stand out as your best.

Budget is important as well. With a price point in mind, you can concentrate on shops that carry choices within your range.  Bridal salons are a great place to start, also major department stores and even resources online provide amazing selections.

You’ll know, just as surely as you knew the one you’d marry, you’ll know THE dress!
